Some people hate the police, but many people don’t. I certainly don’t. There are bad apples in any organization. If you hate the police, yet a family member is brutally murdered and the police through tireless investigation catch the perpetrator, do you still hate them. You might be in favor of capital punishment when other peoples kids are executed, until one of your own family members is executed for a crime they didn’t commit, then it’s not a statistic any more, it’s personal. Being honest the human race is a selfish race, until something impacts on them, they very rarely mobilize to the defense of others. No matter the disdain for police, the disdain for the murderer of innocent civilians, particularly young children is greater and in the case of the Zodiac Killer, the contempt for authority in this case at least, is superseded by the justice that 99.99% of us carry within us and I don’t believe has any bearing on this case not being solved.
The biggest enemy to this case, is not a contempt for police, but the countless conspiracy theorists that forever divert the attention away from the real killer in ever increasing tangents. The idea is to focus the facts of this case, what we do know, but for some unknown reason the selfishness re-emerges in self gratifying individuals, who just want to focus the worlds attention on themselves, rather than the real issue of helping the families of the victims. These individuals are the bad apples of the Zodiac community and quite frankly leave a bad taste in the mouth.
‘I looked into a quivering, snarling face like I was looking to the face of death,’ Mr Lafferty said to the Daily Republic. ‘It scared the hell out of me.’ and "Mr Lafferty says he may have been threatened by the Zodiac himself in his own cryptic letter, out of retaliation for publishing his book". How dramatic, it speaks for itself.
