Tom Voigt sent me a link to the story. The SF Chon seems to think there will be a sequel but I am skeptical

As much as I appreciated that movie…I hope not.

…they may be dealing with one or more ersatz Zodiacs–other psychotics eager to get into the act, or perhaps even other murderers eager to lay their crimes at the real Zodiac’s doorstep. L.A. Times, 1969

I can’t find any other source confirming the sequel. When high-profile cast/crew are filming, IMDB tends to know about it.

It was just a joke made by the reporter who sighted Gyllenhaal: http://sfist.com/2015/12/02/celebrity_s … enhaal.php

Professionally hot man, talented actor, and suspected foodie Jake Gyllenhaal was in San Francisco earlier this week — doing what? shooting Zodiac 2? I don’t know, that shit is still unresolved.

That’s why I was skeptical I couldn’t find anything about it anyplace, and what would part 2 have to offer?

You don’t just secretly film movies. There would have been buzz long before they put actors before a camera…

I loved the original, and if there was a sequel,I would watch it,but like I said, I was skeptical when I 1st read this. I suspect if they did do a sequel, they would follow the second book

Yeah, just heard through a friend. If there’s a sequel, maybe more people will call in clues & information. Really, Really want this case solved in my lifetime!

Now Jake is reported to be attempting to reconnect with Taylor Swift ,some papers say she has dumped her model boyfriend already ,I thought she cleared that up in a popular song.
If you think newspaper articles are often fake now you should have seen it before the internet. Hint, hint

How about a Zodiac ‘prequel’ focusing on Zodiac’s possible early Victims, Domingos & Edwards/ Cheri Jo Bates

It all comes down to $$$. If the studio thinks they can make money on a sequel they will make one even if it sucks. It’s a shame.

Morf…

As we know there’s a ton of cases from the 60’s – 70’s that have never been solved. Many of those I would think are at least worthy of a 1 hour refresher for people. Spur some new interest, you never know, something was missed, someone didn’t say something at the time, and next thing you know there’s a real lead, a suspect maybe, and then a connection to other cases. The cases I see on TV, ID and the other stations seem to mainly focus on cases that have been solved.

HOLLYWOOD – David Fincher has said that Zodiac 2, due to start filming in April, will feature Presidential candidate Ted Cruz.
"David Fincher announced today that his long mooted sequel to his 2007 movie Zodiac will feature Ted Cruz ‘in some shape or form’. Speaking EXCLUSIVELY to the Studio Exec, Fincher outlined the approach of his new film about the mysterious serial killer who terrorized the San Franscico area in the late sixties and early seventies.

Everyone liked Zodiac I think and we had some very positive feedback from both critics and audiences, but the one thing that came up again and again was that the film didn’t really have an ending. It wasn’t exactly our fault. After all the police never found out definitively who the Zodiac killer once and although we tried our hardest to give the film a sense of closure it would have been too much to have actually invented an ending. But now with new information we feel that we can say with more or less certainty who the Zodiac killer might actually have been. Or be.

Wow. Tell us more.

Our film will go back to the original crimes and instead of seeing the investigation therough the eyes of Robert Greysmith, played by Jake Gyllenhaal in the movie and the detective Dave Toschi, played by Mark Ruffalo, we’re going to take the whole case from the point of view of the actual killer. We’ll also show why he stopped and how that coincided with the political rise of Ted Cruz.

So you’re saying that Ted Cruz is actually…

Hey, you’ll have to buy a ticket like everyone else, SE!"
