Through Nick Pelling’s The Cipher Foundation I became aware of the Scorpion ciphers (1991) more about. I find it incredibly similar to what we’ve seen from the Zodiac and have become convinced it was him under a new identity.

knowing nothing about this, the second letter’s odd phrasing and how well the first column lines up makes me think the first letter of each row is a key to decrypting some message.
Was that the name of the serial killer in dirty harry Scorpio? The letter
Dose say something about a movie. Where was this letter sent from?
I know that it is 1991 the year it was sent. But, Riverside, Los Angeles,
Or some place Else ? He just used anothe name is all to confuse you

If it’s 1991 that was in the middle of Zodiac killer copycat Eddie Seda’s crime spree. He lived in NY… Who knows maybe in 1991 he wanted them to think he was in jersey.

I don’t think the writing looks much alike, that being said, I do see some marked similarity between the letter r and the Bates letter r, but the scorpion letters are really poor quality to look closer

did the scorpion writer kill anyone? if not, probably not zodiac. i don’t see zodiac writing secretly to john walsh vs writing again to the papers. that said, given the lack of new information, it probably is a worthwhile effort to look at similar writing/killing/ciphering communications in the late 70s, 80s, and 90s to see if the real zodiac did start up again somewhere else. i could see him not wanting to jump right in and declare himself due to advances in forensics, fingerprinting, chain of custody, but i could see him being "cute" about it and dropping hints to his identity. just my 2 cents.
Just as a question, has there EVER been a serial killer in history that was found to use more than one identity? Like – just made-up examples – Robert Roberts was "The Solar killer," "The Aries," and the "Salinas Slasher."
If there were some precedent at all for something like this, I’d be more likely to believe in the possibility of a multiple-identity killer. But right now, I’m just not seeing it, to be honest.

Did I miss it? Are there any copies of the envelopes these letters were mailed in? Also, where were the scorpion letters postmarked from?
