Morf, check this out:

http://vallejochamber.chambermaster.com … s-1022.htm

P.O. Box 489, Vallejo, CA is an address for the Navy Yard Assoc. Mare Island.

I know the above drawing is old but how many times would the Navy Yard Assoc. change addresses?

It’s probably more Zynchronicity???

When in doubt, don’t.

Good catch. This was discussed at the old board. Maybe we should move this thread over..it was pretty interesting. –Unless it’s here already and I missed it.

I checked with them, they have only been using that address for 10 years, and they don’t have any info on the previous box holders. So much for that. And I even attempted to pry some info from the Vallejo post office, also with no luck. The writing, especially at the bottom, reminded me of zodiac. Here’s the thread on the card- viewtopic.php?f=25&t=464&p=1924&hilit=ballou#p1924

Thank you Morf! Like you, I thought the writing resembled Zodiac’s writing.

When in doubt, don’t.

This is truly an awesome find (and not just because it strengthens my POI theory–lol). Did anyone notice the arrow on the wheel? It somewhat matches the arrow on one of the Z drawings–at least the "feathers" on the shaft are drawn in similar fashion. Any arrow deaths around that time?

You mean death by crossbow arrow? Not that I ever heard of. But then again, I wouldn’t know nor am I qualified to speak and hold an opinion on the actual content inside the envelope due to getting stuck on level 1, aka the envelope. I am starting to believe that Zodiac misspelled Avery with the extra L, and underlined LAV for no reason other than to piss me off a few years down the line in the future lol. Frustrating is an understatement!

Got a question on these comics. It is very obvious they are related to Z somehow, but the red mask comics have a couple of differences from issues. The skeleton on the Halloween card has a red mask on over his eyes as the red mask in the comic has in some issues, but the red mask comic also shows him with a cover over the lower half of his face in some. Does anyone know when the issues that have the eye mask were released as opposed to the ones with the handkerchief on the lower half of his face? Might help narrow down when the comics were available as I would think that would be a pretty significant change in the character…could even be a different illustrator?

Anyone remember "CipherMatrix"? He didn’t last too long here. He is posting at another message board and seeming to be taking credit for this find.

I certainly don’t expect people to mention my name, but don’t act like you discovered it. When someone asks you how you stumbled upon it…tell them.

That turd that got the boot? Now why am I not surprised he’s trying to take credit for someone else’s research? That’s the same loser that even tried taking credit for Grant’s nonsense. And now he resides in a forum where self aggrandizing is the norm. Bully for him. In the meantime, I continue to be impressed with the real research done by the folks right here. I have no problem saying that opord and their cast of jokers are the laughing stock of the "Zodiac community." It’s really quite sad to read what goes on there. The one word that comes to mind is… Delusional.

Once again, thanks for digging this up Tahoe. Truly a great find.

Tahoe,
Yeah that’s so not right. Credit should always be even, to whomever and whenever it is do.
Can’t believe anyone has the guts to do that?? Strangeness for sure.

If Zodiac ever joined a Z forum, I’m sure he would have been banned for not following forum rules. Zam’s/Quote

I sometimes read the OPORD posts just for the sheer lunacy value, and I see in that thread that dear "CipherMatrix’ has gotten the boot there as well. Some people just don’t play well with others, LOL.

Well Tahoe there’s enough honest folks on the boards we frequent that we know he won’t get away with that. There are so few certainties around Z, but what you found was a definite, no doubt about it certainty, that Z not only read comics in his day, he read that exact comic book that you found. Can be no mistake about it. Can’t be a coincidence….I’m not familiar with this cipher matrix guy, but I’ll keep my eyes open.
Just think if someone in LE had made this connection back then, they may have been able to catch Z.
