I loved the orginal movie,it was done sort of in a campy sort of way,but was greath nonetheless. The original was done by Charles Pierce who made the Legend Of Boggy Creek movies(also great movies). I don’t know much about the makers or cast of the remake,but it’s always worth seeing how movies look after a ‘re-freshening’. For those of you not familiar with the story(Based on a real life serial killer), The Town that dreaded sundown was based on a series of lovers lane attacks & murders in the Texarkansas area of Texas in the 1940’s. Somewhat Zodiac like.

Thank you for posting this. I remember seeing this movie and I loved the "campiness" of it. It took the edge of the horror that was taking place. What I thought was really creepy was at the end when they showed the shoes of people waiting in line to see the movie and saying the killer could be in line with you. I don’t think the remake will have that same edge as the killer is surely dead now, but I’m glad to see it being done again.
Just got my copy on BluRay and watched it today. Better quality for sure, and a few extras(not enough in my opinion).
Definitely good with some Zodiac paralells in it

Is this a remake of THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN or CURSE OF THE ZODIAC? 
I’ll probably watch it when it comes out on video but would have preferred the story be based around the original events.

That’s what i was hoping for to.It looks more like a sequel then a remake they should have named it The town that dreaded sundown the time he came back or something.I guess it was to much to ask for a good movie about the Phantom killer.
I watched this movie tonight, it was pretty bad. It’s a modern day slasher flick using the Texarkana Phantom as a catalyst. If you want to watch a slasher flick like Friday the 13th or Halloween, this movie tries to be like them(not nearly as good). It actually has a cast of pretty well known actors in it, I recognized half a dozen or so. One cool thing, it one scene, they make reference to the Z case
