In the Stine letter, Zodiac mentions that "I am the same man who did in the people in the north bay a_ea"
That’s the first time I ever noticed that, and it sticks out for some reason to me. At first, it seems as if Z was being lazy, but to make that underscore would take the same energy as to put the actual r in there. Kind of odd, might it be a clue? Has Z done this at all before?
This may be something to look for in the writings of various suspects.

That looks more like a sloppy lower case ‘r’.
That looks more like a sloppy lower case ‘r’.
That was my impression as well.

I concur. Hastily written lower case ‘r.’ A bit further down in the letter, the ‘r’ in the word "parked" looks about the same.

Not sure you guys are looking at the same thing, the word AREA is written as a_ea, that’s a flat line or dash

We really are looking at the same thing.
G
I’m looking at the same thing. I’m also looking at the word "parked" on the left below it and the lower case ‘r’ looks just the same.
Even later on that same line of text, the ‘r’ in the word "there" is quite similar.
"pa_ked their cars + sat the_e" is the line I mean.
I don’t think Zodiac was being "lazy" – I think he was writing hastily – "at speed" – and I see quite a few of the lower case ‘r’ that look the
same, just in this letter alone. Please look at the whole letter. I have.

Okay,I see what you are saying, this one looks a little more like a line than the others. I dont recall Z doing this normally

I see it as an r. Yes it’s flat and yes is stretched but it’s an r. The fact that it came out like that though should be remembered for future reference. It might be a trait. Not sure I can consider it as such right now, it might very well be an anomaly.Even at that, could it be a consistent one?
Someone with the nickname of “ACE” wrote this letter but probably wasn’t the killer of Stine.
Adding "I think" in front of that might help ya Daniel.

I should have looked at this more closely: I THINK I… the second I is exactly 36 places out. 36=9 but more importantly 36=CF or FC

Daniel, your genius astounds me. Very cleverly played. It’s like watching the devil himself at work. G
PS: my message above contains a hidden mathematical meaning, but I shall never reveal it.
Daniel-
When Tahoe27 said you should add "I think" to your post, she wasn’t referring to the original letter, she CLEARLY meant that
instead of you saying "Someone with the nickname of “ACE” wrote this letter…" You should have said:
"I think someone with the nickname of “ACE” wrote this letter…" OR
"In my opinion someone with the nickname of “ACE” wrote this letter…" OR
"Based on my insane numerology someone with the nickname of “ACE” wrote this letter…"

Yah, I got that but I was being a smart ass by ignoring that and catching and fixing my insane numerology mistake…

ACE
So, ACE, is that an epistle in your pocket, or are you just eager to confess?
First apologies, this is off topic but generally in line with the title of the thread. Basically, this is a one off point open to interpretation and I doubt it deserves a thread of it’s own. Please feel free to move it.
Anyway, in this letter Zodiac writes:- " The S.F cops could have caught me last night"…. Doesn’t that make it appear that Zodiac was not from San Francisco?
It doesn’t sound right that a person from S.F would be writing to a S.F newspaper and feeling the need to distinguish. However it might be something a person from another jurisdiction might say/write!
