This weekend the film was shown at my local art house cinema. I had never seen it before so that was a cool experience. It was as bad as I expected, while at the same time also being better. Everyone was laughing during the movie which kind of made me feel a little bad, but I was laughing a lot too. It’s a very silly movie.
I have to say that, perhaps disturbingly, that I think this is the most factually accurate out of all the Zodiac movies.
Cinema Snob does a hilarious review:

The move looks terrible, but does kind of show how SF was and how the people dressed in that era.
I believe Avery provided the foreword for the film which is a bit interesting.
That article was a brilliant read.
What an imaginative attempt to catch Z… kinda bonkers but in a good way… respect! It could have worked a treat, a well aimed shot perhaps.
I would like to see a photo of the the handwritten card and a photo / name of his suspect also, just out of interest.
Saw parts of this on Youtube and found it pretty entertaining, in that cheesy 70s way. Like the old movies on Mystery Science Thester 3000. Plus, I recognized the restaurant sign in the background of Zodiac’s phone booth call. I used to pass by there every weekend.!
There is a new movie in the works titled The Zodiac Killer Trap, which is based on Tom Hanson’s attempt to catch Zodiac.
A few minutes ago on a toilet not very far, far away….
I am looking forward to seeing that one.
I just read an article on Hanson’s story from 2017 that stated that his suspect is still alive. If true then it rules out Van Best as being his suspect.
I’m guessing that since they are making this movie that the Zodiac Man documentary is being scrapped. The movie is in post-production so it should probably be out this summer I would imagine.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like you missed last Friday’s FX – Hulu "Most Dangerous Animal of all" TV show? It eliminated EVB at the end of the 4 part series, showing Gary Stewart assumed his father was the Zodiac and made up most if not all of his accusations about his father. I was talked into joining my Z group to watch it , I wasn’t going to waste my time on anything about EVB, but I am glad that I did see it.
I haven’t heard about the Zodiac man documentary? Is that the one that will be shown on Netflix?
It upsets me to know that in one of my notes from the late 1980’s I have the name of Tom Hanson’s suspect, but haven’t found it. Ron Pimentel from the Roper Detective Agency in Oakland Ca. gave me the name and the town that suspect was living.( Fairfield? ) Ron was very interested in my suspects as well and we stayed in touch until his early death. He was also followed by Honcho.
The name Thomas seems to be the first name if I remember correctly? ( I know Ron was looking at Hanson’s suspect). I have heard contradictions about it being the man who was at the theater in SF, who was caught pleasuring himself in the mens room. That is something that Ron confirmed did take place. Toschi believed that is something Zodiac did while writing some of his letters.

Didn’t even think about that and great job man bring this up!
